US Oil (WTI) a jucat ieri cu eleganta intre unghiul 1x1 si 2x1. Dupa ce a realizat o minima pe graficul de 4H in zona lui 34.20, petrolul a intrat in raliu si a accelerat pe unghiul 1x1. Ritmul accelerat a fost insa de scurta durata. Dupa cum putem vedea in graficul de mai sus pretul a desenat un foarte frumos pattern armonic. Pe unghiul 1x2 pretul a realizat piciorul XA. Dupa ce a realizat topul A, pretul a realizat o miscare tip zig zag cu o prima escala de suport pe unghiul 1x1 si cea de a doua pe unghiul 2x1 unde a finalizat piciorul AB. Dupa realizarea minimei din punctul B pe unghiul 2x1 pretul a intrat in miscare ascendenta si a retestat, de aceasta data ca nivel de rezistenta, unghiul 1x1 unde a finalizat piciorul BC. In acest moment pretul se misca descendent si se apropie de primul target situat in zona unghiului 3x1 aflat in confluenta cu minima punctului B. Daca aceasta zona va fi strapunsa cel mai probabil, pretul va cauta zona de suport dinamic a unghiului 8x1 pentru finalizarea piciorului CD. Aceea este zona ideala pentru deschiderea unei pozitii long cu un risc redus si un bun potential de profit.

The High/Low Breakout is a forex strategy intraday based on the break of the previous day high or low.

Time Frame H1

Currency pairs: majors.

Indicator:

ADX 14 period with 35 level.

Trading Rules The High/Low Breakout

Buy

1. Find a currency pair with ADX is less than 35 but above 25.

2. Wait for the price to break below the previous day’s low by at least

15 pips.

3. Place an pending order price to buy 10 pips above the previous day’s high.

4. After that order fill, place your initial stop no more than 25 pips below the entry point.

5. Profi target 30-40 pips or exit postition at end of the day.

Sell

1. Find a currency pair whose 14-period ADX is less than 35 but above 25.

2. Wait for the price to break above the previous day’s low by at least

15 pips.

3. Place an pending order to sell 10 pips below the previous day’s low.

4. After that order fill, place the initial stop no more than 25 pips above

the entry point.

5. Profi target 30-40 pips or exit postition at end of the day.

In the examples we have two trading on GBP/USD hourly charts, all conditions are agree.

ADX 14 is below 35 level at the previous day High/Low.

First Example

Previous day low 1,5835. We look for a break below the previous day low. - Pending order 1,5835 -10 pips= 1,5825. Place stop loss of 25 pips. Profit Target 30 pips.

Second Example

Previous day high 1,6096. We look for a break below the previous day low. - Pending order 1,6096+10 pips= 1,6106. Place stop loss of 25 pips. Profit Target 30 pips.

The position tradert is playing fundamental direction and is seeking very large moves of 150 to 300 pips. This trader doesn’t want to sit and watch the screen but play the longer moves and forces behind forex. This requires trading daily, and even weekly charts and setting with risk control to target a 3-to-1 ratio of pip profits over losses.

Position traders are usually sophisticated investors with two distinct characteristics: Their astute reading of the fi nancial markets makes them totally unconcerned with the short-term or even the medium-term move- ments of the currency market, and they own a large trading account. This

size is necessary because capital is needed to withstand large floating losses should trades go against the trader for an extended period of time.

Position trading offers these top three advantages:

Lower transaction costs. Brokers charge a spread for every position executed in the forex market. Thus, scalpers incur the highest costs by virtue of their trading frequency. Position traders are on the opposite end of the pole.

One disadvantage is psychological. Set-and-forget trades are slow and take a long time to complete. In contrast, an advantage is that all it takes is three out of seven wins to be profitable.

The trader wants to enter on the side of the predominant trend, put on the trade with proper limits and targets. Channel and patterns fit this style.
